Morphy Richards Vector pour-over filter coffee machine – Cream / Black – £19 Asda instore – Chester Greyhound Park
I bought one for £39 a couple of months ago, I’ve been very happy with it for this price. Seems to have more technology in it than the entry-level £50 Dolce Gusto machines.
Having used a few types of coffee pod machines I massively prefer this. If you’re happy making decent, normal coffee rather than funny things with Italian names that I don’t really understand, you’re much better off with a filter coffee machine. Much cheaper buying ground coffee and much better for the environment.
Uses a pour-over, cupcake shape filter to avoid the bitterness the older cone filters can extract from the most-used beans at the bottom of the cone. There is a built-in reusable filter, but you can use paper filters too for ease-of-cleaning.
Has a hotplate for keeping your brewed coffee warm and a clock, so can be programmed to brew automatically in the morning.
Found instore, Chester Greyhound Park Asda.
